Therapeutic Services
Free 15-minute consultation
Starting therapy can feel like a really big decision. It’s important to go on the journey with someone who feels like a good fit for you. I offer free 15-minute consultations to explore your needs and see how it feels.
-
Consultations are held either via phone or video call.
You can use this session to talk about your difficulties, hopes, and goals for therapy — and find out whether I feel like a good fit. There is no obligation to move into therapy after the consultation.
If you would like to work together, we can then discuss starting psychological therapy.
Psychological therapy
I offer psychological therapy for individuals aged over 18. I am a strong believer in the value of a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, and aim to create a space that feels safe, contained, and non-judgmental — a space where we can explore and make positive changes together.
-
The therapies that I provide tend to be time-limited, rather than open-ended.
We will agree an approximate number of sessions during our initial assessment, and we will review this regularly. Every client and therapy is unique, but as a rough guide the average duration of therapy is around 12 sessions.
Each session will be around 50 minutes in length and will be held remotely via video call.
Regular sessions — usually weekly — are recommended.
I am able to offer sessions in the evenings, between 5pm and 9pm. While I can be flexible with the timing of sessions week to week, I recommend trying to keep to a regular time.

Finding the right approach together
Therapy is extremely personal; what works for one person may not work for another. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am trained to flexibly draw on a range of effective evidence-based therapies, and work collaboratively with you to find your winning approach.
I see my role as being alongside you in a journey towards a deeper, more intimate understanding of yourself - an understanding which can help empower you to make meaningful, positive changes to your life.

Clinical Psychologists differ from other other types of talking therapists, such as counsellors, in their level of training and professional regulation. Clinical Psychologists are specialist mental health professionals who are trained to utilise a range of therapeutic approaches to reduce psychological distress. They will have had to complete an undergraduate degree in Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society, as well as a three-year professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, as part of their training. After qualifying, Clinical Psychologists must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), receive regular clinical supervision, and participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure their skills and knowledge are consistently up to date.

Everyone is different, and every therapy is different. As a general guide, psychological therapy lasts around 10-12 sessions - however, we will decide together what length of therapy is most appropriate for you.
